ITALY
Like artists throughout the ages, Lucius Crowell loved the classic beauty of Italian cities and returned to this sublime environment again and again for inspiration.
Living in Rome with his family in 1955-56 in an apartment above the Palazzo Pamphili and overlooking the Piazza Navona, he had the opportunity to explore the rich light and color of the Mediterranean sun. His works seem to capture timeless moments suspended in silence.
